Radio Cables:
microHAM does not offer OEM cable
sets for the micro2R. However, the cables are easily
constructed with readily available connectors and pre-built cable
assemblies.
In general, cables can be assembled from a 12 foot (two meter) stereo audio cable
(two coaxial cables) and a 6 foot (one meter) stereo audio cable (two wires and
shield). The twin coaxial cable is cut in half to provide two pieces - one half
is used for CW and PTT IN (Amp PTT), the other half for Mic audio and PTT.
The shielded two wire cable is used for headphone audio.
For transceivers with an RJ-45 mic jack, one of the dual coaxial cables is replaced
by a six foot length of CAT5 cable. Ideally, the RJ-45 connector is wired so
the mic and PTT signals are on separate twisted pairs.
